Woolwich Creative District consultation

What do we want to know:

Help us to name the new Creative District in Woolwich?

Description:

Woolwich is embarking on a new chapter as the capital's next landmark cultural destination.  Five historic buildings will be refurbished to create a world-class complex of theatres, studios, offices and places to eat.  The flexible spaces will also be available for hire for community meetings, weddings, parties and other events.

We now want to agree a name for this new landmark destination for the arts and the individual names for each building. We want unique, memorable names that acknowledge the past but are relevant for the future.

Whilst it will bring new visitors to Woolwich, it’s really important that local people benefit too. Seventy per cent of the space will be used by cultural organisations and local community groups at subsidised rates. The site will also provide more than 400 local jobs as well as new roles during construction.  So, we would like local people to tell us what they think about the names we’re thinking about.  Your responses will help inform our decision.

The consultation will close on 27 May 2019.
