Local Validation Requirements List

What do we want to know:

We are seeking your views on the Updated Local Validation Requirements List, which sets out the information which must be submitted as part of planning applications.

Description:

What is the Local Validation Requirements List for planning applications?

The document sets out the level of information required by the local planning authority to support a planning application. The Local Validation Requirements List aims to:

  • Provide guidance on the national validation requirements as set out in the Development Management Procedure Order 2015 (as amended);

  • Provide guidance on our local information requirements and the type of information required to be submitted with an application;

  • List validation item requirements which are proportionate to the nature and scale of the proposal;

  • Ensure that the Council complies with current best practice advice; and

  • Ensure that the validation requirements are justified and supported by policies in the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), the policies in the Royal Borough’s adopted development plan, the London Plan and any other relevant legislation.

Why is this review undertaken?

Planning legislation requires that the local planning authority must review its local list every two years. This document updates the existing list to reflect current guidance as well as provide further clarity on the information required to support different scales and types of applications.  The Royal Borough is inviting public representations on the Draft Local Validations List.

What is the period of consultation?

The consultation period runs for six (6) weeks and will end at 5pm on Friday 24th December 2021.
