Cutty Sark Gardens proposals

What do we want to know:

To ask people about priorities for the redevelopment of Cutty Sark Gardens in Greenwich including understanding how you use the Gardens and how it could be improved for residents and visitors.

Description:

Feedback on this consultation must be received by Sunday 1 August. The online feedback form closes at midnight on this date and then will not be available through this listing after this time.
Summary of results:

Participants in the survey were provided with the opportunity of responding at the exhibition event itself, by post and on-line via the Council's website.  Responses received were very favourable.

There was a total of 191 responses, a summary of those are below:

47% of respondents were from SE10 area.

65% if respondents visited Cutty Sark Gardens on a 'more often' basis.

62% if respondents picked 'relaxation' and 'the views' as key reasons why they visited Cutty Sark Gardens.

The top three priorities for visitors to the Gardens were:  more trees/greening, seating, events and security management.

70% if respondents provided comments on the proposed scheme and welcomed trees/greenery and seating and lighting in particular.  Of these respondents, 44% of respondents comments that trees and greenery were a priority within the Gardens.

Although a number of other issues within the Greenwich Town Centre area were commented on, these issues were not specific to the Cutty Sark Gardens Landscape Scheme Planning Proposal.  These wider comments have been circulated to relevant Council Departments.
