Consultation on school term and holiday dates 2015/16

What do we want to know:

Royal Greenwich is consulting on the proposed school term and holiday dates for the 2015/16 academic year.  Please see the attached proposals for the full list of dates.

The 1999 regulations require all maintained schools to open for teaching for 190 days a year. The proposals set out dates for 195 days, of which five days are designated as training or INSET days, leaving 190 days for pupil attendance.

Although these regulations do not apply to academies, including free schools and UTCs, who may determine a different pattern of school term and holiday dates, and will not apply to maintained schools from September 2015, it is recommended that all schools adopt the same dates in the interests of the effective use of resources.
