The area around Plumstead Station is dominated by busy roads, with poor quality footways and large areas of concrete. There is little greenery and poor quality pedestrian links.

We’ve created a range of design proposals to help create a safer, greener transport network for the local community.

Our proposals will help to create safer and more attractive spaces for people walking and cycling in the area, improving links with public transport connections and providing more greenery.

Please read the proposals and share your views in our survey the consultation.

From 04 Dec 2023 to 19 Dec 2023

Notice is hereby given that in accordance with Section 18C of the Representation of the People Act 1983 Royal Borough of Greenwich (the Council) is to carry out a review of its polling districts and polling places.

Relevant information and mapping regarding the current arrangements and proposals for changes can be found below, on the Council’s website, or at Woolwich Town Hall.

The (Acting) Returning Officer (ARO) for the Parliamentary constituencies will comment on the proposals. Those representations will be published on the Council’s website and will be available for inspection at the address above in accordance with the timetable set out below.

Electors within the Council area or within a UK Parliamentary constituency which has any part in the authority may make a representation. We invite comments from all electors regarding the convenience of voting at polling stations currently used for elections and would welcome suggestions for alternative sites.

The Council would also welcome the views of all residents, particularly disabled residents, or any person or body with expertise in access for persons with any type of disability, on the proposals, ARO’s representations or any other related matters. Anybody making representations should give alternative places that may be used as polling places if possible.

Like most London Local Authorities, Royal Greenwich is experiencing falling rolls in the mainstream sector of the primary phase.  The declining demand for school places has meant that for the above schools, the pupil intake is not sufficient to utilise all of their available forms of entry.  A reduction in PAN will enable them to plan with greater certainty in terms of staffing, curriculum delivery and financial viability.  It also allows for provision be re-established in the longer term, if required.

Views are also being sought on whether Royal Greenwich’s arrangements would better suit local needs if priority was given to children of staff.

  1. Comments are invited on all elements of the arrangements but would be particularly welcomed in respect of the following proposal to reduce the published admission number (PAN) for entry in the reception class from September 2025 in the following schools:

Primary School

Current PAN

Proposed PAN from 2025

De Lucy

60

Fossdene

Heronsgate

The proposal is to extend restrictions on match days until 9pm every day there is a match at Charlton Football Club, including Sundays and bank holidays, covering every possible kick-off time. The fact that some matches may finish after 9pm is not seen as significant, as traveling football supporters would be parked for kick-off time.
