We are asking our residents to comment before we set our annual budget for 2024 to 2025.
Each year we spend more than £311 million to provide essential services. From giving children a good start to council homes and supporting families on a low-income. Locally, we are also dealing with an aging population and young people with increasingly complex needs without the appropriate funding to match it.
Our local authority, like many others across London are now struggling due to persistent government cuts. We have lost 53% of our funding since 2010 alone but demand continues to rise for council services due the cost of living crisis, the temporary accommodation crisis and spiralling inflation.
We need your views to set the budget that allows us to adapt to the changing needs of our communities while addressing the increasing number of challenges of remaining financially sustainable.
Your views will inform the decisions our Councillors make at the Full Council meeting in February on the overall budget.
